This afternoon, March 12th, 2020, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a ban on events involving more than 100 people in one space. At this time we are still learning more about what this means and how this will impact the 2020 Steampunk Symposium.
Tomorrow morning, March 13th, 2020, we are meeting with the manager of the host hotel to get a better understanding of the situation and discuss what options are available. If it proves impossible to host the event on the originally scheduled weekend of March 27th to 29th, 2020, then we shall look into what options are available for rescheduling the Symposium at a later date.
We will post updates as soon as we are able, and ask that you please be patient with us as we try to navigate all the moving pieces that this event ban has caused.
How can you help?
- Wash your hands diligently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay home when you are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the crook of your elbow if a tissue is unavailable.
If you are sick (especially if you are feverish or displaying signs of respiratory illness) or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask you to please stay home.
