Steampunk Symposium 2020 was originally scheduled for March 27th to 29th, 2020, but on March 12th, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a ban on events involving more than 100 people. This morning we met with the Symposium’s host hotel and have managed to move the convention to August 28th to 30th, 2020.
As much as possible we will be keeping the same program and vendors, but given the change of date there are bound to be several changes based on presenter and vendor availability . . . but the Symposium lives on to fight another day!
Currently the hotel is working on details for the new August room blocks. If you need to cancel your room, or change your dates to August, please call the hotel on Tuesday (3/17/20) or later that week. Please note, the hotel is NOT making any automatic changes; you need to call to cancel or change dates.
Tickets will be transferred to the new August dates, and merchandize will be available for pick up during the new dates. For those with pre-reg tickets, but unable to attend in August 2020, we are working on a number of options that we will be able to announce on Wednesday (3/18/20).
There are a lot of details that need to be moved around, and we ask that you please be patient with us as we work toward resetting everything for August. We will post updates as soon as we are able.
How can you help?
- Wash your hands diligently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay home when you are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the crook of your elbow if a tissue is unavailable.
If you are sick (especially if you are feverish or displaying signs of respiratory illness) or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask you to please stay home.
