40 weeks from now, picture yourself riding into town on your steampowered horse, hitching it to the post, and moseying up to the Symposium Saloon. The people of this town are friendly, but there’s something that they are hiding, a dark secret of which they are afraid. Their looks warn you to leave this town while you still can, or is it a cry for help? Either way, you’re thirsty and you’ve heard that the drinks at the Symposium are the best, so you enter the bar.
Sitting to the side is a lone man, his face hidden under the wide brim of his hat. He shuffles a deck of cards and spreads them out in a fan across the table. You pass him on the way to the bar, but he stops you in your tracks with a simple command . . . “Pick a card, any card.”
The Symposium goes “Weird West”
The theme of the 2020 Steampunk Symposium is “Weird West,” and while you are welcome to dress in any retro-futuristic fashion that you desire (or not, remember costume admired, but not required), we invite you to embrace the Old West and put your own Weird twist on it.
Our programming, entertainment, and special events will be tailored to fit the theme and provide you with an enjoyable weekend of escape into the future that neverwas!
