Certain drugs, that are typically now considered illegal, harmful, or taboo, were once heralded as a marvel of modern science. Join us for a trip to the Victorian apothecary as we explore the misguided drug use of Victorian England and the Western world of the 1800’s.

Dr. Melanie Carlson (AKA Professor Morgan Occulta Keys) is an expert on drugs and addiction, a mom, a serious Batfan, a cat lover, and a fiercely devoted steampunk! She received her doctorate from the University of Central Florida, Orlando in 2009 and moved to Cincinnati that same year. She lives in Cincinnati, with her husband, her son (the Batkid), a very cute dog, and way too many cats both feral and domestic.
