Event Navigation
Victorians were obsessed with ghosts and all things supernatural. Séances were common entertainment and supernatural stories were more popular than ever. Instead of being opposed to science, ghost hunting and spirit photography were viewed as scientific exploration. See examples of spirit photography and learn about different portrayals of spirituality in Victorian literature.
Sarah Worman earned her Master’s degree in Literature from Bowling Green State University in 2017. She wrote her thesis on the connection between Victorian spirit photography and ghost stories. Her favorite areas of study are Victorian horror stories, especially stories about mummies.
