The Airship Athena began last fall 2013 when the Athens County Libraries and the Athens County Historical Society and Museum hosted The Steampunk Spectacle. Our airship formed its name from the city we hail from and as an ode to Athens, Greece and their patron goddess Athena. Our symbol is a clockwork owl, as the owl was associated with the goddess Athena, and clockwork, because… steampunk!
