Supporting and encouraging the Steampunk subculture. Our aim is to have fun as well as promote the joys of Steampunk through partnering with local organizations such as the historical society and Transportation museum.
The city of Roanoke Located in The Roanoke Valley in southwest Virginia is an area between the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Appalachian Plateau to the west. Home for the Norfolk and Western railroad who’s headquarters located in Roanoke, Virginia for most of its 150 year existence.
The company was famous for manufacturing steam locomotives in-house at the Roanoke Shops as well as their own hopper cars. Around 1960, N&W was the last major American railroad to convert from steam to diesel motive power. So it is only fitting to have a group dedicated to the Steam Age.
Roanoke’s is known as the “Star City Of The South”
