Vourteque is one of America’s top electro swing and neo-vintage Djs. Musician, producer, remix artist, DJ, carny and ringmaster – Vourteque entertains and wows crowd from Los Angeles to New York. He’s one of the minds behind the midwest’s Rouge! neo-vintage dance parties that have featured guests such as Dutty Moonshine, Good Co., Kiwistar, Lord Justice and more.
Vourteque’s borrows from a variety of influences mixing styles of disco, techno and industrial with gospel, swing and blues. His first single, Whiskey Drinker, has gotten acclaim and plays throughout the internet, and his first release, The Swing Mechanical, still sells robustly two years out and can be found on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Beatport and more.
He’s played throughout the US from the Montreal Speakeasy to Tampa Steampunk Ball, from Cirque du Soleil’s Kurios premiere event in Chicago to Edwardian Ball in San Francisco. He’s been a staple of the Electric Forest Hangar Stage and he’s the resident DJ for Detroit’s Theatre Bizarre as well as curates the Lords & Ladies stage there. On top of that he’s an accomplished sideshow and variety performer affiliated with some of the top troops including Cleveland’s Wizbang show, Chicago’s Vertical Sideshow and the Philadelphia sideshow troop The Squidling Brothers.
In 2015 he released his first full length album, The Iron & Jazz Age, which features collaborations with Sabrina Chap (see video below), Sean Guinan (of Candy Town), Carey Rayburn (of Good Co.), Professor Elemental, Allison Curval (of Clockwork Dolls), Joe Harbison and Alex Johns (of Ford Theatre Reunion) and Eli August. As well as mastering and mixing by Andrew Benjamin of Hellblinki and Bill Holland aka Mr. Automatic.
