Greetings and Salutations! I am the Head Official for this year’s Steampunk Olympics and wanted to share some of my excitement about upcoming event. First, I want to thank everyone who has participated and those who are working diligently behind the scenes to bring the games to life this year. As many of you know, getting things setup for the games takes a lot of time and effort, and the more we can take care of before the event, the better event runs. With that in mind, we would like to get an idea of how many participants we are going to have for each event and you will find a link for the registration below.
Some events, like Iron Tailor and Umbrella Fencing, will not have same day registration, and so the only way to compete is to fill out the form below. In fact, for Iron Tailor, you will not be able to register once the registration closes, which will be the Friday before the event at 12:00pm, noon. Umbrella Fencing Registration will end Friday night when the NAMI table closes for the evening. Additionally, anyone who wants to compete in the Umbrella Fencing must be in the Blue Ash room at 10:00am for a 30 minute safety seminar.
We would like for everyone, who intends to compete, to register, so that we can be ready and have the full hour for each game. Except Iron Tailor, which will be given more time this year. The Iron Tailor event will start Friday evening at 10:00pm. We will keep the room open until 12:30 to give everyone time to work on their items. You DO NOT have to use all of that time, if you would prefer to hit the wonderful parties, but that time is available if you choose to take advantage of it. At 12:30, the costumes will be tagged and stored until the Judging, which will take place just before the Costume Contest. (Models will be given time to change before the costume contest)
Now that you’re as excited as I am, go and register your teams for this year’s Olympic games!
If you are not a member of an officially registered airship of the 2017 Steampunk Olympics, please visit the NAMI table in front of Carpenter’s Run (during vendor hall hours) to register for this contest. All proceeds from individual registrations for the contests go straight to NAMI as part of the Symposium’s charity fundraiser.
